PupSavers.org:  Our mission is to find homes for as many unwanted puppies as possible and

promote responsible pet ownership by requiring neutering or spaying of each puppy within 90 days of their adoption so no other animals will be born into unwanted situations every year.

Abstinence doesn’t work with dogs. People can talk to their dogs about abstaining from sex until both are blue in the face, but it won’t keep dogs from doing what unsterilized dogs do. It is not the dog’s fault…

Dog owners who are not responsible pet owners and choose not to spay or neuter their dogs contribute to the overpopulation of unwanted puppies and for them being euthanized. Seven puppies are born each year for every person in the United States. In Colorado in 2008, over 35,000 dogs and cats were euthanized because there were too few homes.

In 2009, Colorado’s mandatory spay and neuter mandate went into effect to make sure that rescued pets from shelters and rescues are altered so no other puppies will be born into unwanted situations.

When you adopt a puppy from PupSavers you agree to have your puppy spayed neutered ninety days after adoption and provide proof to the rescue.  You leave a $50 deposit to be returned when you provide the required documentation that the pet was altered. Matter of fact, it’s the law.

NOTICE FOR NONCOMPLIANCE: In accordance to the state mandate the $50 is donated to the rescue’s choice of a spay/neuter organization. This is not refundable. Your forfeited deposit will allow the organization to spay or neuter a dog.

The dog that is spayed/neutered will not contribute to the overpopulation of dogs. And that is a litter of pups that won’t have to be rescued!
